Are Dysons really that great? Is the Dyson DC14 any good? Well, the short answer is yes to both. However it does have it’s snags but I will explain these later. The obvious, major plus of this vacuum is that it’s bagless so there will be no more emptying smelly and dusty bags. To clean it out you just have to empty the canister in the trash. The other big strength is it’s sheer suction power. It really is a beast.

You see, with most normal vacuums, if you want a clean carpet you have to go over the same spot on the carpet at least 3-5 times over to lift all the dust out. The DC14 only needs to do it once or twice. This is a huge timesaver and lets you get the house cleaning over and done with much quicker.

It also has these crazy particle filters which filter down 0.1 microns. To give you an idea how small that is, it even filters out the excess carbon monoxide given off from the motor. I remember my old vacuum and that was the worst part about it, the smell. It made me dread doing the vacuuming. But the DC14 leaves absolutely no smell behind.

Many people whose carpets are at least a few years old, are shocked to see how much dirt, dust and hair the DC14 lifts out. The crazy part is that their old vacuum left all that dust behind.

• This is one heavy machine, but that is usually a sign of good quality. So if you need to vacuum upstairs, then you’re gonna get a nice little regular workout. Or just get your partner to help out.
• Also, Dyson’s ‘Never Loses Suction’ tagline is only half true. If you don’t clean the filters every few months it will slowly start losing power, just like any other vacuum. People unfairly criticize it for this.
• A few people have mentioned that the wand tool is a little tricky to use.

This vacuum is absolutely perfect for the following people:

• Homeowners who love that ‘clean home’ feeling
• People who love their pets but hate the hair
• Young couples who want to buy only one vacuum – for life
• Allergy sufferers who need ultra-high air quality

Let’s take a look at the DC14′s features:

My conclusion: It’s actually pretty tough to find a better vacuum than this. There are some industrial carpet cleaners which do a slightly better job and are more durable but they are totally unusable for regular home use and cost at least three times as much. If you mainly have carpeted areas in your home, then there is simply no better vacuum. Dyson has become a no-brainer these days.
